Отношение, которого спектакль требует к себе, есть в основе своей пассивное приятие, впрочем, он его уже добился, ему никто и не думал возражать, да и не мог возразить, если спектакль обладает монополией на видимость.

The attitude that it requires as its principle... is this passive acceptance... that it has in fact already obtained... in its manner of appearing without reply, in its monopoly over appearance.

Аналогично, с блаженным приятием действительности может хорошо сочетаться показной бунт - и этим выражается то, что даже неудовольствие превратилось в некий товар, чуть только промышленность освоила его производство.

To the smug acceptance of what exists, purely spectacular revolt can be added... as something identical: this translates the simple fact... that even dissatisfaction became a commodity at the moment... that economic abundance found itself capable... of extending its production... to the point of utilizing even that sort of raw material.

Если мы примем эту идею, тогда это позволит нам возвратиться к ней на следующий день и повторить тренировку с большей уверенностью и большим приятием.

If we accept that idea... then it will allow us to go back the next day... and do it with more certainty and with more acceptance.
