Mūsų visuomenėje, yra nelaimingos tendencijos... pasakyti, kad tėvai nepavežtų jų vaikų, nelaikytų jų... nepavežti kūdikių, kurie verkia iš baimės jų gadinimo... ar padrąsinti juos miegoti per naktį... jūs nepakeliate jų... kuris yra tik priešingybė to, ko vaikui reikia... ir šitie vaikai galėtų grįžti, kad miegotų todėl, kad jie pasiduoda... ir jų smegenys, tik uždarytos kaip... būdas ginti prieš pažeidžiamumą. iš palikimo iš tikrųjų jų tėvų... bet jų numanomos atmintys bus... tai pasaulio, kuris neduoda prakeikto.

In our society, there is an unfortunate tendency... to tell parents not to pick up their kids, not to hold them... not to pick up babies who are crying for fear of spoiling them... or to encourage them to sleep through the night... you don't pick them up... which is just the opposite of what the child needs... and these children might go back to sleep because they give up... and their brains just shut down as a... way of defending against the vulnerability... of being abandoned really by their parents... but their implicit memories will be... that of the world that doesn't give a damn.
